Bhuter Baasha

Sound: Rustling of leaves. Honto comes out from behind the bushes.

Honto: Tui kothaye geli re?

Silence: Honto surveying the jungle around him, minus Donto.

Honto: Aye Donto! Bhoy dekhash na.

Silence: Crowing of crows and tired hooting of an owl who’s tired to stay awake in the morning hours of the day.

The owl: Hoot hoot hoot…ki boka, toke dhorbe bhoot hoot.

Two trees cave out from the ground and a paper cutting stuck onto a bamboo shoot keeps the trees apart. The trees snap back and the paper cutting of ghosts falls to the ground.

Sound: Wohooo…khaire-mairi-tor-mundu-chairi.

Sound: Mundu-na-dila-peethe-marbo-tor-ami-keela.

Sound (from the paper cutting): Khaire-mairi-tor-mundu-chairi.

Honto (running away from haunted spot): Eki…amake khey je phelbe…

Honto (Jumping over a sleeping sheep): Donto!! Donto! Amake baacha re! Donto!!!!!

Sheep looks up (Scowling): Ar amader boka bhaba hoye.

Honto (Hanging from a peepul arial root): Jai Ma Tara bachao amar maatha…Jai Ma Tara komayo eyi Hontor betha…Jai Ma Tara ….Donto!!!

Donto (Hiding behind a boulder with ghost-cutting in his hand, cutting made of large leaves): Hehehehehe…

A ghost (Captain Cook) taps Donto’s shoulder: Moja hocche?

Donto (not looking back over his shoulders): Moja hobena- kirom bhojar moto gaacher theke jhulche. Hahaha…

Donto (slowly turning around): Hehehe…

Nobody behind Donto.

Donto turns back.

Captain Cook standing in front of him.

Captain Cook’s Fried Face.

Donto’s Feverish stare.

Donto and Honto both hanging from a tree (chanting together): Jai Ma Tara tui moder baacha…Krishno thakur hoshna eto nishtur…Allah dur kor eyi Halla…Jeeshu Chrishtho bhagayo bhut apatato…

Oi, chele, loved your post - but, undeniably, what you're writing is a screenplay, not a comic strip. And as a screenplay, it works fine. Now - whatever your skills as a sketcher - you have to add the strips as you see them: and then, perhaps, we, the interested, can suggest alterations or modifications, or just cheer. Keep up the good work!
